Dr. Maken graduated from Bastyr University, Seattle with a Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine. She has a PhD in Behavioral Neuroscience, and was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the prestigious Columbia University Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in the Brain Imaging laboratory in NYC. She holds state licenses to practice Naturopathic Medicine in both California and Washington. Dr .Maken completed advanced training with the New England School of Homeopathy (NESH), Classical Homeopathy training with Henny Heudens-Mast in Belgium, and extensive Hydrotherapeutic training at the Sebastian-Kneipp-Schule in Bad Wörishofen, Germany. Dr. Maken continues her study of traditional medicines and recently earned a Master’s of Traditional Oriental Medicine from Emperors College of Traditional Oriental Medicine.
Dr. Maken’s broad expertise and eclectic approach allows her to develop comprehensive individualized treatment plans that focus on improving overall health while addressing physical, mental, emotional and energetic balance. She recognizes when and how to help resolve more subtle dysfunctional patterns that may prevent serious chronic conditions from emerging.
She partners with health participants and focuses treatments on prevention and fundamental causes of dysfunction while supporting the body’s natural healing ability using the safest, most effective treatments available to build vitality and resilience.
